It is our goal to raise the image of pies and restore their worthy position as value added nutritious meal or snack. Inspired by the passion of our Aussie Chef and creative director Ben O’Donoghue (www.benodonoghue.com.au) we have created a range of pies that are full of flavour, true to the Australian spirit of fresh simple flavours and quality ingredients.

Recognising that Australia is over ten thousand miles away and being environmentally conscious people, we chose to make our pies locally with the best British ingredients and loads of Aussie passion.

And, we Don’t use any artificial ingredients or those nasty “E” numbers.

Little did one of our directors, Steve Hamer, realise what he had set in motion when he came back from a holiday in Australia in December 2004. One of his abiding memories, apart from the weather, the breathtaking scenery and the fantastically friendly people, was the quality and discernible taste of the pies.
The Great Australian pie company was born soon after, with its prime vision of bringing the concept of gourmet pies, served in the Australian way, to the UK.

After extensive research into the marketplace, we discovered that over 750,000 UK citizens visit Australia every year, most of whom experience the great flavours of the Aussie pie. On returning to the UK, high on their list of yearnings is, not only the wonderful weather and the friendly people, but those deliciously indulgent pies. Combined with that, there are also nearly 1 million Aussies and Kiwis living in the UK, all homesick for that national pie. We began our search for a chef to create the recipes for truly memorable pies and a pie-maker who could turn dreams into reality, and who better than Ben O’Donoghue www.benodonoghue.com.au

Our portfolio of great tasting pies has allowed The Great Australian Pie Company to grow from strength to strength and many of you have experienced our hospitality at a host of outdoor cultural and sporting events. We continue to further our vision and work with the wider food establishments to ensure that our range of our pies is never too far away from any meal or snack occasion.
